Driver drowsiness and distraction alert

Driver drowsiness and distraction alert

Warning
•  Do not drive while tired. It is the responsibility of the driver to always be alert and attentive while driving. Failure to do so could result in death or serious injury.
•  Never ignore warnings from the driver drowsiness and distraction alert functions. If the system warns you about being tired or distracted when driving, you must immediately adjust your driving behavior or stop the car to take a rest. Failure to do so could result in death or serious injury.
The driver drowsiness and distraction alert functions prevent accidents caused by fatigue or distraction, by monitoring the driver's level of alertness. The system uses a camera behind the steering wheel to monitor the driver's eye opening. If the driver's alertness reaches a critically low level, the system uses audible and visual signals to prompt the driver to avoid risks by focusing on the road ahead or taking a break. Additionally, the sensitivity of the front collision warning is increased to the highest sensitivity level as soon as any drowsiness or distraction is detected.
The function is active by default, which is required by EU law. Warnings are enabled over speeds of 10 km/h and 20 km/h, for drowsiness and distraction, respectively.

The driver drowsiness and distraction alerts can also be turned off from the swipe-down menu.
Note: The driver drowsiness and distraction alert functions cannot be enabled if the system cannot detect the driver's face correctly. If this happens, adjust the steering wheel and/or seat position to ensure that the system is working properly.
Note: When the direction indicator lights are active, the distraction alert function does not monitor the driver's alertness level.
Limitations of the driver drowsiness and distraction alert functions
Conditions that might limit the driver drowsiness and distraction alert functions include:
The view of the driver monitor camera is blocked. If this occurs, a white exclamation mark and a camera blockage message is shown to inform the driver about the system status.
The driver's face is partly or wholly covered by sunglasses, masks, or other accessories.
Strong direct sunlight might reduce the system's ability to monitor the driver.
